Integrations and Add-Ons

DocuSign E-Signature

Vilulia integrates with DocuSign to collect legally binding electronic signatures on settlement agreements, mediation agreements, and arbitration awards. Once DocuSign is connected to your organization, the signing workflow is triggered from within a case: Vilulia generates a PDF of the settlement agreement, creates a DocuSign envelope, and sends it to all parties for signature. If escrow is configured for the case and set to release on signature completion, the DocuSign webhook triggers the Stripe escrow release once all required parties have signed. Escrow is part of the Contract Lifecycle Management add-on.

What you'll learn

  • How to connect DocuSign to your Vilulia organization
  • How envelope status is tracked in real time
  • How signing completion can trigger escrow release when escrow is configured
  • Connection limits and caveats to be aware of

Setup steps

  1. Go to Settings → Integrations and click Connect DocuSign. DocuSign is available on Professional and Enterprise plans.
  2. You are redirected to DocuSign. Sign in to your DocuSign account (or create one if you do not have one).
  3. DocuSign asks you to authorize Vilulia to send, sign, and manage documents on your behalf. Click Allow Access. Vilulia requests the signature and impersonation scopes.
  4. You are returned to Vilulia. The connection is saved automatically and DocuSign is now active for your organization.

What happens automatically after setup

  • When you trigger the signing workflow from a case, Vilulia sends the settlement agreement to DocuSign automatically.
  • Envelope status (sent, viewed, signed, declined) is tracked and displayed in the case record in real time.
  • Access tokens refresh automatically in the background — no manual re-authentication is required unless the connection is revoked.

Manual steps required

You must trigger the signing workflow from within a case — Vilulia does not push documents to DocuSign automatically without a user action.

Connection limits and caveats

  • Only the first DocuSign account on the connected user's DocuSign profile is used. If you have multiple DocuSign accounts, Vilulia uses the first one.
  • There is one DocuSign connection per Vilulia organization — not per individual user.
  • If a DocuSign API call fails, Vilulia retries up to 3 times with a 1.5-second base delay.
