Community Discussions

Each course in the Vilulia Training Academy includes a discussion forum where enrolled students can ask questions, share insights, and learn from one another. Discussions are moderated by course instructors to keep conversations focused and productive.

Accessing discussions

Open any course you are enrolled in and select the Discussions tab. You will see a list of existing topics sorted by most recent activity. Discussion threads are visible only to students enrolled in that course.

Posting a new discussion

Click Post Discussion (in a course) or New Discussion (in a cohort) to start a thread. Give your post a clear title and write your question or comment in the body. Posts support basic text formatting. Once submitted, your topic appears at the top of the discussion list.

Replying to threads

Click on any topic to view the full thread. Use the reply box at the bottom to add your response. Replies are displayed in chronological order. Long threads are paginated so you can navigate through earlier replies without losing your place.

Reactions

You can react to any post or reply using one of three reaction types:

  • Like: agree or find the post helpful.
  • Heart: appreciate the contribution.
  • Insightful: mark the post as particularly valuable or thought-provoking.

Reaction counts are visible on each post. You can remove your reaction by clicking the same button again.

Moderation

Course instructors have moderation tools to maintain discussion quality:

  • Pin: instructors can pin important topics to the top of the discussion list.
  • Hide: instructors can hide posts that are off-topic or disruptive. Hidden posts are not visible to other students but are preserved for review.

Authors can delete their own posts at any time. Instructors can also remove any post that violates community guidelines.

Discussion channels (Cohort Pro and Mentored)

Cohort-based courses support up to 8 named discussion channels. The instructor configures channel names (for example, General, Week 1, Week 2, Office Hours) when setting up the cohort. Learners see channel tabs above the discussion list and can filter or post to a specific channel. Discussions posted before channels were configured appear under General.

Flagging content

If you see a post that is inappropriate, off-topic, or violates community guidelines, click the Flag button. Flagged content is reviewed by the course instructor. You can add an optional note explaining why you flagged the post.
