Discovery Management

Vilulia Arbitrate includes backend support for discovery management — document production requests, interrogatories, and admissions — with AI tools for objection analysis and discovery planning. The dedicated in-platform UI for creating and tracking discovery requests is coming soon; this article describes how to manage discovery in the interim and how to use the AI tools that are available today.

Creating a discovery request

The in-platform discovery management UI is coming soon. Discovery requests are currently tracked by sharing documents and correspondence through the Documents tab. The backend supports three request types — document production, interrogatory, and admission — and these will be available in the case UI in an upcoming release. The AI discovery tools described below are available now regardless of the UI status.

Responding to discovery

Until the dedicated discovery UI is released, parties respond to discovery requests by uploading documents through the client portal or by sharing files via the Documents tab within the platform. Responses and produced documents are associated with the case record.

AI discovery suggestions

The Suggest Discovery AI tool (Professional and above) reviews the case and recommends a targeted discovery plan — which documents to request, which witnesses to depose, and any scope limitations appropriate to the type and scale of the dispute. This tool runs at the case level and does not require any additional input from the arbitrator.

AI objection analysis

When a party objects to a discovery request, the Analyze Objection AI tool reviews that specific item and recommends how the arbitrator should rule, with supporting rationale. The tool accepts the discovery item ID and an optional language parameter.
