What Gets Anchored

Not every document or event in Vilulia is automatically anchored to the blockchain. Anchoring is triggered by specific finalization events within the platform — moments when a record is complete and should be preserved in its final form. On Professional and Enterprise plans, these events result in a blockchain anchor being created and the transaction hash stored against the case record.

Records that are anchored

The following records are anchored to the Polygon blockchain when the relevant event occurs and blockchain verification is active on the organization's plan:

Finalized settlement agreements — anchored when a settlement is fully executed (all parties have signed via DocuSign).
Arbitration awards — anchored when an arbitration award is issued from the case record.
Completion certificates — anchored when a case completion certificate is generated (for example, on successful mediation or training completion).
Case documents — individual documents can be anchored when verification is enabled for the case.

When anchoring is triggered

Anchoring is event-driven — it happens automatically when the triggering action is taken (e.g., issuing an award or finalizing a settlement), not on a schedule. There is no manual "anchor this" button for standard settlement and award records; it happens as part of the finalization workflow.

Checking anchor status

For arbitration awards, anchor status is shown inline in the Awards tab of the case. The transaction hash (tx_hash), block number, and confirmation timestamp are displayed once anchoring is complete. Only authenticated users with access to the case can view this information. A full history of all anchored records across your organization is available in the Blockchain Verification History page in the admin dashboard.

What is not anchored

Chat messages, case notes, draft documents, and AI tool outputs that have not been finalized are not anchored to the blockchain. Only records that represent a finalized legal event are eligible for anchoring.
